The playoffs were irrelevant to the Warriors a long time ago, but there are still plenty of reasons to be optimistic. Two of the reasons are Anthony Randolph and Monta Ellis. Randolph brought his high energy with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Ellis played nearly 45 minutes and poured in 29 points and grabbed 11 boards. Captain Jack set the tone as usual, scoring 31 points, dropping 10 assists, and pulling 7 rebounds. Since his first career triple double February 4th against the Suns, Jack has been getting close every time he steps on the floor. It was most encouraging to see Brandan Wright back in action. The Warriors have missed the depth provided by Wright on the front line, especially with Biedrins going down. Wright was productive in the 14 minutes on the floor, scoring 12 points on 5-7 shooting along with 5 rebounds.
A night like Friday leads me to believe the W's could be back in the playoffs sooner than we may think, depending on how this off season goes. We're stuck with Maggette through 2012 and we owe Crawford around $20 mil if he decides to stay. Jamal has the option to stay and get $9.36 Mil or opt out. Its seems unlikely another team would pay more than $8 mil for Crawford, making him a difficult player to deal. I'm looking forward to the draft this May and what new young talent will be available.
