Randolph Posts Career Night vs. Spurs

I just wanted to get in a short post today about Anthony Randolph's explosion last night vs. the Spurs at the Oracle. The Warriors 19 year-old, top pick from the 2008 NBA draft has been a favorite of ours here at the Warriors Rundown and if you've followed us, you know how fond we are of the lanky, 6'10" forward. On Monday night, he showed just why.

Randolph turned in his best performance as a pro vs the Spurs (San Antonio Spurs Schedule) on Monday, setting career highs in points with 24, rebounds with 16, assists with 4 and most importantly minutes with 45. Randolph committed only 3 fouls, enabling him to stay on the floor and contribute in a big way. His foul trouble has been what has kept him from playing 35+ minutes per night over the last few weeks, but he's looked a lot more under control over the last few games. We've keep mentioning it every time we talk about the young kid here, and I have to say it again, the more he plays, the better he's looked. The only question that we have about Randolph is whether he'll end up as a above sized (height wise) small forward or little bit undersized of a power forward. I'd love to see him add another 15 pounds over the summer and come into camp next year to battle for the starting spot at the 4 slot next to Andris Biedrins. That could be a dynamic-duo for years to come in the bay area.

The Warriors play their final game of the 2008/09 season on Wednesday, so stay tuned for our upcoming Warriors Season in Review post which will be composed in 2 parts coming this weekend...
